Kindergarten Round-Ups
At the time of all the kindergarten registrations in Elkhart County elementary schools, children and parents receive a “Get Ready for Kindergarten” bag with special gifts from Families First. Each bag contains a book, STOP Light Activity Cards, information about Count Down to Kindergarten workshops, and helpful hints for children to have a smooth transition into kindergarten.
Count Down to Kindergarten workshops are frequently scheduled at the schools and take place within a few weeks after kindergarten registration. Parents have an opportunity to register to attend a workshop which serves as a “jump-start” for their children who will soon be going to kindergarten.
