Elkhart General: Freedom from Smoking
Are you tired of being pressured by family members, friends, and co-workers to quit smoking? Do you need help getting through the day without a cigarette? Have you thought about quitting?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then you are ready for Elkhart General’s “Freedom from Smoking” program.
Developed by the American Lung Association, this six-week program provides coping techniques and quitting options for struggling smokers faced with disgruntled families and workplace smoking restrictions.
You will learn how to recognize and modify smoking triggers, free yourself from the chemical, psychological, and habit-forming grip of tobacco, resist cigarette cravings short-term, and manage job-related stress that leads to these cravings.
The goal of our program is to empower rather than pressure the smoker. The atmosphere is non-threatening and non-judgmental. We encourage smokers to set and accomplish their goals, their own way, within their own time frame.
